NFL Alumni at the Youth Camps: Sharing, Inspiring and Building the Joy of Football

When an NFL Alumni steps onto the field at our Youth Football Camps, they bring more than a championship pedigree—they bring stories, lessons, and a passion for helping the next generation of players. At every camp, these pros give kids the chance to learn from those who have lived it. They spend time coaching skill stations, sharing their football journeys, offering one-on-one tips, signing autographs, and most importantly—making sure kids have fun.

From wide receivers who once scored on the game’s biggest stages to linemen who battled in the trenches, each NFL Alumni brings a unique story and a shared message: Football is about more than wins and losses. It’s about teamwork, respect, hard work, and the simple joy of playing the game.

Take Stephen Baker, a Super Bowl champion wide receiver with the New York Giants, who always reminds kids that no matter how big the moment, staying composed and trusting your teammates is what gets you through. Nicknamed “The Touchdown Maker,” Stephen tells campers about his days at Fresno State and how his journey to the NFL started with a love for football that never faded—no matter the challenges.

Lewis Benfatti, a defensive tackle who battled in the trenches for the New York Jets, teaches kids the value of playing multiple sports. A Penn State standout, Lewis encourages campers to become well-rounded athletes, emphasizing that football smarts are built from many experiences—on and off the field.

When USC graduate Garry Cobb steps up to speak, his energy lights up the camp. A veteran linebacker for the Cowboys, Lions, and Eagles, Garry shares how football taught him discipline, perseverance, and how to bounce back from setbacks. His message is clear: Whether you’re on the field or in life, you have to keep pushing forward, stay focused, and always respect the people around you.

And then there’s Kris Haines, a Notre Dame graduate wide receiver who played for the Bears, Bills, and Washington. A Notre Dame product, Kris tells kids about the power of seizing your opportunities. He shares how being part of multiple NFL teams taught him the importance of adaptability—and how every practice, every play, and every rep is a chance to get better.

These stories—and so many others—are why our NFL Alumni Youth Football Camps are special. The players take time to make every child feel seen. They sign autographs, chat one-on-one, and coach stations where kids learn skills like route running, tackling, and footwork. They encourage kids to have fun, stay positive, and remember that football is a game to be enjoyed.

When you send your child to an NFL Alumni Youth Football Camp, they’re not just learning the fundamentals of the game—they’re learning from real pros who care about helping them grow as players and as people. It’s about more than football. It’s about building confidence, character, and a lifelong love for the game.
