Bears Beat Packers in Charity Golf Match Up

In the inaugural “Rivalry Cup” golf competition in Medinah, Illinois, the Chicago Bears crushed the Green Bay Packers winning, 10 to 2.

The exhibition golf event took place at Medinah Country Club on Monday, June 18th and was played out in a Ryder Cup-like format, involving eight current or former members of each organization. Mike Ditka, former coach of the Chicago Bears and a golf fanatic himself, was one of the participants to compete.

The Rivalry Cup is one of the greatest rivalries in sport, squaring off two teams (a combination of alumni and current players) on the course in four ball and singles matches. The competition is actually a charity event, raising money for Bears Care, the charitable beneficiary of the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers Foundation.

Players from the respective teams included:

Chicago Bears:

-    Kevin Butler
-    Richard Dent
-    Mike Ditka
-    Robbie Gould
-    Patrick Mannelly
-    Adam Podlesh
-    James ‘Big Cat’ Williams
-    Dave Toub

Green Bay Packers:

-    Mason Crosby
-    Tim Masthay
–    John Kuhn
–    Bill Schroeder
-    Lynn Dickey
-    Mark Murphy
