Kaleb is loving every minute of camp. We love that all of the coaches seem to enjoy being there and have made an effort to get to know each  of the kids. It was worth travelling from Ontario for kaleb to have this experience. It would have been nice if there had been a way to make some sort of package arrangement with a local hotel with parking (similar to fan fest) for out of town families....perhaps next year.   We would love for Kaleb to be able to do this again in the coming years!

I have three children attending this week. My daughters are returning for the 2nd year and are once again being treated as players ,which is important to them. Considering the horrible heat I thought my son would be dreading it, but Rhian is loving it.  This is his first expreince with football and he seems to enjoy the sport.  He's never been a team sport kind of kid (he's been into Tae Kwon Do and golf)  but I think this kind of event seems to give a good introduction to TEAM sportmanship.

First of all, thanks for reaching out and asking for feedback.  I appreciate that you care so much about the kids experience.  My son Liam is LOVING it!  He seems to really be absorbed in the whole environment.  He loves his particular age group coach (Sevi, I believe) and the rest of your team of coaches.  He is coming home sharing skills he's learning and has really absorbed stories being told of football legends like Jim Thornton. I am learning lots through what he's sharing.   I know he AND I are impressed with the ability of the kids to learn and be inspired by athletes who have or are actually playing collegiate or professional football and playing with passion.  I see him more aware and motivated about taking care of hydrating his body and eating nutritious foods that fuel him as a person and athlete.  Last night, I watched my son who normally just flirts with a bite or two of a green veggie eat his entire serving of broccoli siting his dedication to eating healthy.  Being a mom with a nutrition background, that's a wonderful sight to see.  I only wish my urgings could motivate him as well.  HA!

My son Jack absolutely loves the camp!! He was so nervous about going, he didn't know anyone and other than one short park district flag football class, he has no experience with football (we don't even watch it on tv!).  He is so excited when he comes home and can't wait to go back in the morning, even in this dreadful heat.  I also feel comfortable leaving him with the coaches.  They appear very knowledgable, fun, and seem very concerned for the kids especially with regard to the high temps.   I am so glad that I chose to send him to the Bear's camp, he will definitely be returning next summer!

I can't tell you how happy I am with the camp!!!!  I wasn't sure how my son would handle 6 hours of football and in this heat.  But he is smiling every day as he comes off the field and is so excited about the camp.  You are doing an amazing job teaching them football skills, but also leadership skills and the importance of working hard.  Gray is so motivated and eager to learn and be a leader by your coaches.  Thank you very much for creating a terrific learning environment for kids.  We can't wait for Gray to apply all he's learned on the field this fall.

We have two sons in your Lake Forest Camp this week.  The have gone for two days now and have had a lot of fun.  Our 8 year old told us today that he was named the most skilled player in his group today by one of the coaches.  This gave him a great boost in confidence, and we could tell he was so proud of his accomplishments for the day.
My 10 year old came home the first day a little frustrated that he didn't get the ball passed to him several times when he was wide open during his group's scrimmage.  We encouraged him to play his best and have fun the next day.  He got out of camp the following day and told us all about his touchdowns, passes and catches.  He had a blast and was also very proud of his accomplishments for the day.  Thank you for reinforcing skills, team work, positive thinking and having fun while playing!

My son is LOVING Bears Camp so far! From my perspective, the staff is excellent and the facilities are great. My son's only suggestion: less drills and more games. But after talking to him about how hard work on fundamentals are a part of being a well-trained athlete he understands why there are drills. Thanks for asking. My 9 year old son Andrew Maher is having the time of his life. On the way home after the first day, I asked him if the camp was what he expected. He replied,"better!!!". Each subsequent day I've asked him the if it was as god as the previous day, and the response is always "even better". I've made it a point to watch the scrimmages and love the atmosphere. The kids really feel like they're athletes and act the part. I know this will be the highlight of his summer. Thanks for making it happen so well.

He is preparing for the upcoming football season with the West Chicago Wildcats. He likes his coaches and appreciates all the attention that he has been getting. My son is having a great time at the camp.  He was tired as heck when he got home yesterday, and was again today, but was fired up to go back this morning and I expect the same tomorrow.  He thinks it's great that he gets to run all of the same drills for the same length of time as "the big kids." The coaches are doing a fantastic job, very enthusiastic, very coordinated, friendly, and good teachers.  I've been lucky enough to work from the field the last couple of days and stay for all of the sessions and I think that all of the kids are having a great time and are improving. Keep up the great work.

My son is really loving the camp!!!! He was apprehensive to go at first because he had not played football. There is no apprehension now as he comes home proudly declaring he scored a touchdown or 2. He is having a GREAT time!  Likes it better than the Illini Basketball camp he went to earlier this summer. Keep pushing him harder.  He will likely be moving up a league this year in his fall football league. I have been attending the camp of a couple of hours on a daily basis. I like the tempo of the camp and I think that coaches are doing a great job of keeping the flow and keeping the kids interested for 7 hours a day. He is loving camp. He came up from Huntsville, AL with his Dad and sister for the camp. When I have talked to him each night, he is so fired up about camp.

The first morning I drove him to camp, he was so nervous not knowing what to expect. He has a very good attitude when it comes to anything. He gets along well with everyone and gives himself 100% so I wasn't worried.  After practice the first day walking back to my car with him, I asked him how the camp was

The coaches are great! Right off the bat they gave the kids a pep talk. They let them know, what they will learn and what behavior is acceptable. Our town doesn't offer football for the junior high, instead they have a summer program called the McHenry Junior Warriors and he was too scared to join. I just want to say that that he is having a fantastic time -- he's close to the smallest kid on the field, but seems to feel like one of the big kids -- I can only assume that has to do with how the staff is integrating him into the program!
